In this month’s article, I would like to highlight accomplishments achieved by working together to suppress crime and improve community relationships in the Midwest Division area.  To start, I would like to recognize and thank our dear friends Julia Nader and Nabil Salim Habbaki of Lebanon Times.   Their collaborative efforts have made a positive impact on members of the Lebanese and Arabic Community.

For the past few months, Officer Amri of the Midwest Division has submitted informative articles on crime trends and crime prevention techniques.  I am confident that these have been of great value to you.   I would like to congratulate Officer Amri for the awesome job and service he has provided on various topics such as domestic violence, jugging, and traffic stops.  We will continue to submit educational articles on similar topics to help citizens avoid becoming victims of crime.

My officers work very hard to identify and address crime problems in our district to make our neighborhoods safer.  I would like to highlight one specific incident in which habitual criminals were specifically targeting members of the Arabic Community.  They were following Middle Eastern bank customers with the intention to break into their vehicles, or rob them of their money.  My officers did a superb job in setting in catching these criminals in the act.  For more details on this crime, you may review the following news clip:
