Why is Lebanon Times on the airwaves now at FM frequency 106.1 that covers Houston’s sky with an estimated multi-ethnic audience of 5 million people? It is an official station that you can hear in your car, your office, and your home. It is free.
It is a station that was established 20 years ago, has a full audience and offices that include 4 studios, each of which is fully equipped and modern…it is the best station.
Why has Lebanon Times entered the broadcasting arena?
First of all, the owners of Lebanon Times have already established 7 stations in Lebanon. They have left their mark on many broadcasting stations and some of their programs are still running until today.
Secondly, we wanted to be on the airwaves between 8 pm and 10 pm, which is known in the broadcasting world as gold time, as parents and their children are back home and those who are on the road can tune in, as we would be their on-the-road companion via their car radio.
Thirdly, after witnessing the onslaught of many accusations being leveled against Arabs, we wanted to address them and show different American and foreign communities all about our civilization. We will present it all in social programs that are light and pleasant and interviews to highlight members of the community and the positions they have attained. We will show that we are peaceful, working and building in this hospitable country, buying homes and businesses, employing American labor, paying taxes, respecting the law. After all, every Arab is a representative of his or her country of origin and the love for the country that has opened its welcoming doors wide for him or her is great.
Fourth, to build bridges of friendship with other communities such as the Greek, Brazilian, Pakistani, Indian, French, Italian, Turkish, and all the other Arab American communities.
Fifth, it is the music and songs radio, also featuring various programs, news, competitions, Sunday wedding announcements, and broadcasters that are modern and skilled in their work. We will be able to live stream weddings, festive evenings, seminars, conferences, and conventions.
Sixth, during the first month, broadcasting will take place 2 hours every Sunday, 8pm until 10 pm. Beginning the second month which coincides with September, the broadcast will last over 2 hours. At the beginning of the New Year 2018, we will work every other day on 106.1 FM covering all of Houston.
Seventh, Lebanon Times FM radio will not be owned by Lebanon Times, but by its staff and its audience, for we shall be lending them our eyes via the microphone, and we shall borrow their ears to illustrate the Lebanese proverb, “The ear may sometimes fall passionately in love before the eye does”.
Eighth, we have already launched 3 programs on the 106.1 FM frequency, over 3 weeks, and we would therefore like to thank all the staff who has contributed, one at a time, and the volunteers, the speakers, the program anchors. We believe in teamwork and think that success can be attributed to each individual who has lit a candle by broadcasting his or her voice. We do not sow suspicion and doubt… just the seeds of love which, in the past, have come to fruition in the form of a magazine, today in the form of a radio, and tomorrow-God knows what!
