The Mayor’s Media and Friends Holiday Reception 2022 at the City Hall By Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner

For the first time since 2019, I hosted the Mayor’s Media and Friends Holiday Reception. We could not come together during the pandemic, so Monday, December 19, 2022, marked a new beginning in a long-held tradition observed by Houston mayors.

We opened the doors to Houston City Hall and welcomed media partners, including Lebanon Times Magazine and our community friends, to connect and celebrate the season. Local TV news anchors and reporters, print journalists, media executives, public relations professionals, and local celebrities joined me for a festive night of fun. They also had a chance to connect with the directors who lead our city departments and learn more about municipal services and programs.

The relationships we maintain enrich our lives. While I only sometimes agree with media coverage, the media are essential in keeping our city informed about services programs and during emergencies like hurricanes.

In the new year, I look forward to strengthening my friendship with you and everyone in the Houston community.
