It is with great honor that I take this opportunity to talk with the citizens of the nation’s fourth-largest and undeniably greatest city.

Since taking the oath of office, I have continued working to fix the many issues that need attention in our municipal government, and  I am honored to serve you all as the 63rd mayor of Houston.

My commitment is to focus on public safety, quality of life issues, improving our infrastructure, and organizing the city’s finances. From the campaign trail to my inauguration speech, my message to the citizens of Houston has been loud and clear: it’s time for us to go to work. I am ready, willing, and prepared to lead our great city.

I can only do my job with you by my side. The true definition of a leader is also to be a servant. I serve the people of this great city, and I am committed to ensuring that your needs are always met and that you have confidence that we have a transparent and ethical city hall that puts your needs first.

I stated in my inauguration speech that I wanted to listen to our fellow citizens about how to make this great city even greater. I need your ideas and advice on how the city can better serve its employees.

Thank you to all the community organizations that have invited me to your programs, celebrations and meetings to learn more about the issues that concern you most. I look forward to visiting with more of you,  but I will balance your invitations with all the hard work I am doing with my team at city hall to make improvements throughout our departments.

Please stay in touch and read my monthly column in the Lebanon Times Magazine.

As I always say, “Let’s go to work!
