This stone measures 21 meters in length, with an average width of 4.08 meters and a height of 4.2 meters, weighing around 1000 tons. Previously, this site served as a quarry for stones, and the local people, especially during the Roman era, used it to cut the stones used in constructing monumental buildings, most notably the temples of Baalbek.
These gigantic stones can be seen in the form of a “Trilithon,” which consists of three massive horizontally placed stones that form part of the base of the Jupiter Temple. This stone has been firmly embedded in the ground and cannot be extracted today as it is fused with the bedrock beneath the surface.
